Kristen's Story
Hi everyone! We're looking forward to seeing you soon in San Francisco.
For those of you who I haven't met yet, here is a little bit about
myself. I grew up in a small town in Vermont, skiing and playing
tennis and golf. After spending a year as an exchange student in
Spain, I studied Political Science and Economics at Boston College.
When I graduated, I took a job with a large consulting firm, where
I worked for three years, feeding my travel bug with projects in
Munich and Zurich.
Just in time for the internet boom, I moved to San Francisco and
worked for two failing dot-coms. It didn't take me long to realize
that technology was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Thanks
to our amazing friend Michelle, I found out about a growing industry
called Corporate Social Responsibility. After getting my feet wet
at a nonprofit, I made the switch to Gap Inc's Global
Compliance department , where I work in a department made up
of 90 people around the world who are dedicated to improving working
conditions globally. I love it!
This brings me to Nish, the love of my life. When
I moved to California, the plan was to stay for two years and then
move back to Europe...I didn't count on falling in love with Nish.
He has been my best friend and partner-in-crime since I arrived
in San Francisco. Nish makes me laugh like no one else can, encourages
me to be my best self, and gives me butterflies in my stomach when
he kisses me. He has such a unique way of looking at the world,
being with him makes everything more interesting and magical, even
being stuck inside with a broken ankle for four weeks. I love Nish
with all my heart and can't wait to be his wife!
